F A R M E R S O F W I N E
In an industrialized world where family farming is disappearing, Farmers of Wine is a visionary project created to sustain local farming, family viticulture and wines with a local identity.
Farmers of Wine tells the story of people. People whose stories live in their hands. Hands that work the land, nurture the vines, and harvest the grapes as the hands of their forefathers did. Their vines are their lives, and their hands weave a story that spans across generations, using traditional methods handed down from generation to generation. They take pride in being farmers of wine – pride that is evident in the respect they hold for the land they love and the values they grew up with. These farmers are custodians of Italy’s wine heritage and the centuries old methods used long before the industry was compelled to create certifications and appellations.
Farmers of Wine offers American consumers the opportunity to experience an authentic Italian wine that is a true expression of the terroir and traditions from which it comes. The project follows each farmer through the grape growing process and leverages relationships, partnerships and economies of scale to ensure these farmers can deliver a high-quality product with authentic taste while receiving the fair compensation that otherwise may be unachievable for these small, independent growers.
A CONSCIOUS CHOICE – Farmers of Wine is produced by Enoitalia, SpA, recipient of the VIVA Sustainability and Culture Certification from the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea. This certification ensures a production model that respects the environment, protects product quality and provides fair and transparent information on the international market. VIVA confirms that in choosing Farmers of Wine you have made a conscious choice.

Variety: Primitivo, Negroamaro
Region: Puglia IGT
ABV: 13.5%
Acidity: 5.5 g/l
Sugar: 8 g/l
Tasting Notes: A medium-bodied, smooth and satiny, easy-drinking red blend is packed with the aromas and flavors of pomegranate, raspberry candies, peach yogurt, black olives and herbs, with an even, compelling medium-length finish.
Pairing Suggestion: Pairs well with rich, savory dishes like grilled or roasted meats, hearty pastas and aged cheeses. The robust flavors are a great complement to lamb chops, pork, and fattier meats, as well as roast rabbit and game sausages. Pasta with meat ragout or other rich sauces are excellent. For a classic, regional pairing match with orecchiette with broccoli rabe. Hard cheeses made with sheep’s milk are a classic pairing, and aged hard cheeses like Pecorino and Parmesan soften the wines fine tannins. Spicy dishes, like those featuring Calabrian chilies, make a nice contrast to the wines jammy notes. For an Italian-American pairing, serve with barbecued chicken or pulled pork sandwiches.
