Lignum Vitis – Latin for “Wood of the Vine” – is born from the belief that everything in nature, from the roots beneath our feet to the stars above, moves in harmony. Inspired by Einstein’s revelation that the universe itself ripples with invisible waves, so does wine capture the same subtle resonance; energy transformed into flavor, vibration turned into sensation. Just as gravitational waves carry the memory of distant cosmic events across space and time, Lignum Vitis carries the story of its origin: the soil that nourished it, the vines that shaped it, and the human hands that guided it, making each bottle a testament to how even the smallest forces can create something that resonates far beyond is beginning.
While the name is a metaphor for the natural elements that accompany the wine throughout its journey from vineyard to bottle, the wooden label presents an alluringly tactile reminder of this connection, and its series of flowing, wavelike cutouts echo the waves of change that transformed the grapes into something that resonates far beyond its beginning.
Just as Einstein revealed that space and time are not rigid but ripple under the influence of mass and energy, Lignum Vitis reveals that flavor and aroma are not fixed, but vibrate through time – ripples of earth, sun and artistry captured in a bottle.

Sicilian wine has undergone a renaissance, transforming the island into what many consider to be Italy’s most exciting emerging wine region, and at the heart of this revival is Frappato. While relatively unknown and not common on most wine lists, it is gaining recognition on the global stage and is a treasure worth seeking out.
Native to Sicily, Frappato thrives in the island’s dry, warm climate. Delicate and fussy, it requires meticulous care in the vineyard. A lower-yielding grape, the vines produce compact clusters with medium-sized berries. No one understands how to nurture this variety better than Sicilian growers, many of whom will utilize techniques to further restrict the yields to produce higher quality, more concentrated grapes, committing to quality over quantity – one of the reasons it is uncommon to find this variety cultivated outside of the island.
Skilled winemaking transforms Frappato into an elegant, light, fruit-forward wine, offering bright aromas, low tannins, and a refined, fresh finish – a delicate dance of flavor and fragrance. It shines both as a single varietal and in blends, most notably with Nero d’Avola – also native to Sicily – whose depth and power harmonizes perfectly with Frappato. In Lignum Vitis, Frappato has found a new, bold companion in Shiraz, offering wine drinkers a unique Sicilian-inspired blend that celebrates both the island’s heritage and innovative transformation.
