“They said it could not be done, but true innovation means daring to do what has not been done. Seeing how beautifully Malbec is suited to Puglia, I challenged tradition and blended it with Primitivo. The result is Ronco Di Sassi – a singularly unique southern experience,” Andrea Bernardini, Winemaker.

Puglia with its sunny Mediterranean climate and gently rolling hills, is famed for its viticultural heritage and full-bodied, fruit-forward reds – especially its signature Primitivo. The vibrant, fertile landscape of this southern region also provides an ideal home for Malbec, a variety most often associated with Argentina in the southern hemisphere.

Ronco Di Sassi unites these two southern icons into a singular expression. The bold, generous fruit of Primitivo blended with the elegance of Malbec perfectly captures the spirit of Puglia: warm, generous, and unforgettable.

A bold southern original, Ronco Di Sassi is crafted for those who appreciate deep flavors and deep connections. Whether shared among friends or paired with food, it is a celebration of southern sun, soil, and soul.

RONCO DI SASSI

T w o W o r l d s , O n e W i n e

Known for its whitewashed hillside towns, centuries-old farmland, and endless stretches of Mediterranean coastline, Puglia is a magical gem of southern Italy. The region’s warm climate, with hot, dry summers, mild winters and moderating breezes from the Adriatic and Ionian seas, creates an ideal climate for viticulture.

While Puglia has a rich history producing Primitivo wines, the region also holds remarkable potential for Malbec – and Ronco Di Sassi brings these two grapes together in one distinctive expression. Extremely sensitive to terroir, Puglian Malbec tends to have more structure and brighter acidity than its Argentinian counterpart, yielding a more savory wine with notes of tart fruit, leather, and black pepper.

From the sunlit vineyards to the cellar where patient magic is worked, every bottle of Ronco Di Sassi Primitivo-Malbec captures the essence of two worlds united in perfect harmony – the richness of tradition and the bold spirit of innovation.
