SHOWCASING THE HISTORY AND POTENTIAL OF TRENTINO

Ca’ Montini Pinot Grigio is a welcome surprise from the innocuous and uninteresting Pinot Grigio so common to the mainstream market. The wine is proof positive that with discerning site selection, meticulous vineyard management and excellence in winemaking, Trentino can product world-class wines.

The Terre di Valfredda vineyard in Ala was selected for the protection afforded it by the surrounding mountains and perfect east/west exposure which provides ideal ripening conditions for Pinot Grigio. The vineyard utilizes the traditional Pergola Trentina trellising system and is fastidiously managed from bud selection and fruit thinning through hand harvesting to produce grapes that exhibit the finest characteristics of the terroir. The vinification process was developed under direct supervision of legendary winemaker Riccardo Cotarella and his technical team. Named Wine Enthusiast Winemaker of the Year and Gambero Rosso Best Italian Winemaker, Cotarella is one of Italy’s most celebrated winemakers and has been proclaimed “one of the best in Italian winemaking” by Wine Spectator and “one of the most influential wine personalities in the world” by Robert Parker.
